Ok Genesis Is Blowing My Mind...

And I don't even know where to begin! What was that I said about saving my questions for later? I don't know if I can do it! This book is straight up CRAZY. With a capital Sodom and Gommorah.

  1. So the more I'm thinking about it I guess it does pose some real defense to the belief that we're born into sin. That sin has been around in it's worst form since day one. There's a part of me that wants to think that things today are as bad as they've ever been...that we're on a course of devolution and constantly getting worse.

Genesis and all of it's wild orgies and power struggles shows us that things have always been bad...we blew it from the beginning. It's tempting to categorize sin and say which sins are worse and try to tell yourself that you're not as bad as you think. As I'm reading these stories there are some folks along the way who seem good, but they breed more evil and they can't help but sin.

But yet God extends grace even in the time before Jesus. He declares Abram to righteous for no reason.
